This Blog has originated whilst I was in the process of finding a new home for my husband and me and my studio. After almost four years of searching we found what we were looking for in 2016 and settled there. It is an old red-brick farm in the north of Westphalia. From 2017 on this Blog became the space for news from our garden and the life on the farmhouse and in its rural surroundings.<\/p>\n

The Fork and Broom Press<\/strong>
\nIn 2017 my studio opened up in the new place and with its new name: The Fork and Broom Press. It goes without saying that there was a new webspace, too. This is where you find news and information about my work, my studio, my experiences – be they recent or from the past \u2013 art projects, events and fairs. It deals with various themes in some detail: my art work, what inspired me to do it, how an idea grew and took form. It puts my work and my pieces of art work in their context:

Bleikloetze – A Space for Metal Type<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This webspace is dedicated to metal type and the many founts that are on stock in my studio. This is the material I work with when printing my artist’s books. Most of the metal type is old and much used and it shows wear and tear. This website wants to give information as to metal type and does so in pictures but also with a list of further reading about type and how to use it.

\nWhen this site went online in 2010 it was thought of as some kind of catalogue of my work. Ten years later, during the Corona pandemic, it turned into the opportunity to browse the shelves without physically visiting the studio and send orders via email.
\nThere is a great variety in cards printed letterpress, books to write in, upcycled and vintage-style books, and of course artist’s books, that can easily be wrapped up and sent through ordinary mail service. Alternatively there is the option of picking packed orders up on request. There is a „Theme of the Month“ and useful information on where to go in the region once someone is here anyway.
